How to integrate SolarWinds account?

Overview​

To use SolarWinds, you will need:

  • SolarWinds ServiceDesk instance URL.
  • API token

Step 1: Log in to your SolarWinds / ServiceDesk Portal​

  1. Navigate to your SolarWinds / ServiceDesk (or Web Help Desk) instance in your browser.
  2. Log in with an account that has Administrator or Service Desk Administrator permissions.

Step 2: Generate API Token​

  1. In the UI, as an Administrator, go to Setup / Administration → Users & Access / Users
  2. Select your user (or a service account you will use for API integration).
  3. Look for a section such as Web Token, JSON Web Token, or “Generate Token for API”
  4. Click Generate. The system will create a token associated with your user account.
  5. After generation, copy the token string. You may only see it once. Store securely.
